Inktober Day 31 – Slice

This is my final Inktober 2018 illustration, and I thought that for this topic I would show a slice of the night sky. This is what it looks like over Bryce Canyon National Park at night. I tried to go for a Milky Way type effect in the sky, which you can see very well over several National Parks at night because there is so much less light pollution than by more populated areas.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my nature (National Parks and the Adirondacks) themed illustrations for Inktober! I had a lot of fun participating for my first time. My goal was to try and challenge myself a bit and to work on growing my ink skills, which I feel like I did. I’m especially proud of myself for pulling this off while maintaining a very full schedule as an art teacher. Black ink and white ink with a brush and a white gel pen on watercolor paper.
